What this policy covers. This policy is written for visitors to our website — for example, if you send us an enquiry. If you go on to instruct us, we process a wider range of personal data to deliver our services and meet our regulatory obligations. We explain that separately in the client privacy notice we provide as part of our engagement process, so this page stays focused on the website.

01

Who we are

Severn Valuations Advisory Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”) is an independent specialist practice providing business and share valuations for tax and legal purposes. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy, and we handle it in line with the UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018 and the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025.

02

The information we collect

When you make an enquiry

If you complete the enquiry form or contact us by email, we collect your name, your firm, your email address, the type of valuation you are enquiring about, the description of the business you provide, and anything else you choose to include.

When you visit the site

Our website is a simple brochure site. Beyond the details you submit, we do not set tracking or advertising cookies. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs, and our web fonts are served by Google, which receives your IP address as part of that request. This is explained in our Cookie Policy.

03

How and why we use it

We use the information you provide through this website to:

We will not use your enquiry details for anything unrelated, and we do not add you to a marketing list simply for getting in touch.

04

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data or share it for third-party marketing. In running the website we rely on a small number of providers who process data only on our instructions, under a written agreement:

We may also disclose information where we are required to by law, regulation or a court order.

05

Sending data outside the UK

Some of these providers may store or process data outside the UK. Where that happens, we make sure the transfer is protected by a safeguard recognised under UK data protection law — either an adequacy decision, or an approved contract such as the UK’s International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

06

How long we keep it

If your enquiry does not lead to an instruction, we keep it only for a limited period and then delete it. If you go on to instruct us, the retention periods in our client privacy notice apply instead.

07

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you have the right to ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you; to have it corrected or deleted; to restrict or object to our use of it; to have certain data transferred; and to withdraw consent where we rely on it. To exercise any of these, email davew@svadvisory.co.uk. We may need to confirm your identity first, and we will normally respond within one month. We do not make decisions about you by solely automated means.

08

Cookies

Our website does not use tracking or advertising cookies. The limited technical detail — including the Google Fonts request above — is set out in our separate Cookie Policy.

09

Making a complaint

If you are concerned about how we have handled your personal data, please tell us first at davew@svadvisory.co.uk so we have the chance to put things right. We will acknowledge your complaint within 30 days and aim to resolve it promptly.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk. We would appreciate the chance to address your concerns first, but you are entitled to contact them at any time.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “last updated” date at the top of the page.
